Who Can Qualify

The CGA-BC Partners in Employment Program (PEP) provides businesses and other organizations with a unique opportunity to partner with one of British Columbia's leading professional Associations. Although PEP is likely most applicable to large and medium-sized companies, small businesses with an ongoing need for accounting and finance professionals are encouraged to participate.

The program has been designed for companies that meet the following guidelines:

  • Has hired CGAs and/or CGA students in the past and is committed to hiring more in the future.

  • Has an ongoing need for skilled, ambitious accounting and finance professionals.

  • Has a program in place that assists CGA students to achieve their designation :

    • Offers financial assistance for courses and student fees
    • Where appropriate and practicable, grants time off to prepare for and to write examinations.

  • Provides the ability for each CGA student to meet the Association's practical experience requirements through opportunities for new professional experiences, ever-greater responsibility, and promotion.

  • Supports CGAs in meeting their professional obligations, i.e., member dues and participating in professional development programs.

  • Designates an individual within the organization to act as the primary contact with the Association.

  • Co-hosts and participates in information events or one-to-one meetings regarding the CGA designation on its premises.

If you still have questions regarding your company's eligibility to become a PEP Employer, please contact Dan Relihan, CGA.
